LCSW-BACS

mendy

Mendy has worked as a licensed clinical social worker for 18 years and as a master’s level social worker since 1996. Mendy has an extensive history of working with adults, adolescents, children, and seniors in a variety of treatment settings. Most of Mendy’s career has been focused on working with children and adolescents with emotional/behavioral problems and individuals seeking substance abuse treatment. Additionally, Mendy has helped individuals suffering with depression, anxiety, psychosis, grief, trauma, and LGBT issues.

As a therapist at PTI, Mendy works to empower people to find solutions and ways to cope with life’s problems. Mendy realized her dream was to become a therapist when she was in 6th grade and learned about social work in a book report.

Mendy most often uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach, but also incorporates other theoretical approaches as they prove helpful to the individual. Mendy believes the mutually working relationship between client and therapist is what allows people to make the changes they desire to live the life they want to live.

When Mendy is not working, she enjoys swimming, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her two shelter-rescued dogs.

Mendy hails from Kentucky and is alumni of The University of Kentucky. Mendy moved to Baton Rouge in 2016, during the great flood, and is very happy serving people in the company of revered professionals at PTI.
