Welcoming Dr. Marjorie Person!
We’re ramping up for success and excellence at the PTI and as part of our winning recipe, we’d like to officially welcome Dr. Marjorie Person into the fold. Dr. Person will begin working with us in the coming weeks and we’re excited to have her on board!
This week we’d like to highlight and celebrate her as a new addition to our staff. If you’ve followed us for any time, you’ve probably noticed that we take a lot of pride in the work that we do and that we do our best to hold ourselves to a high standard. We feed off of each other, innovate together, brainstorm together, hold each other accountable, and work hard to improve our teamwork so that we can keep you, the client, at the center of our focus.
Dr. Person is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist who has a variety of experience including community mental health, emergency rooms, telepsychiatry, and the private sector. A longtime resident of Louisiana, Dr. Person graduated Summa Cum Laude from Xavier University and attended the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. From there, she completed her residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. While at Tulane, Dr. Person also received the prestigious Robert C. Lancaster award, as a recognition by the faculty members of her compassion.
One of Dr. Person’s hallmarks is making sure that she takes the time to educate, inform, and answer her client’s questions. That’s one of the things that makes us excited about having Dr. Person as a new addition to our team. If compassion and treating people right is her, and our, number one priority, then we believe that everything else will take care of itself.
Dr. Person continues to serve as an educator as a clinical faculty member at both Tulane and LSU schools of medicine and is an active member of the service organization, Delta Sigma Theta. Dr. Person also holds memberships to professional organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association as well as the Black Psychiatrists of America. When not working, Dr. Person enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.
